Willaert, Mary Elizabeth (VanHaverbeke) (July 29, 1935 – February 27, 2024)
It is with heavy hearts that we the family of Mary Elizabeth (VanHaverbeke) Willaert wish to announce her peaceful passing on February 27th, 2024, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, after a courageous battle with illness, at the age of 88. Mary was born in Belgium to Omer and Maria (Paret) VanHaverbeke. Mary was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church. For many years, she farmed tobacco alongside her much-loved husband of 63 years, the late Walter F. Willaert (July 6, 2018). Together, they raised their daughters and were very proud of them, their families, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by Denise (Ken Clarke), of Tillsonburg and their daughter Crystal (Darryl Beattie); Jennifer Reynaert, of Aylmer, (Brian Reynaert), and their children: Lee (Tiffanie) Reynaert, Ashley Reynaert, Kristen Reynaert. Special great-grandmother to: Braiden (Chelsea) Clarke, Peyton Beattie, Owen Reynaert, and Adelaide Reynaert. Also survived by her sister Edna Demeyere, of Tillsonburg, as well as by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Survived by several Willaert relatives in the Tillsonburg area. Predeceased by her siblings Erik, Lianna, Willmert, and Ozzie.
Friends, neighbours, and relatives are invited to attend public visitation on Thursday, February 29th, 2024, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg. Private Graveside Service of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 1st, 2024, in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Interment follows.
