With peaceful resignation, I announce my passing. I’ve navigated life on my own terms, even amidst a brief illness. I leave behind three wonderful children: Scott (and Jacqueline), Kristen (and Robb), and Lisa (and Harun). Together, they’ve brought immense joy to my life. My pride extends to my four grandchildren: Reece, Jonah, Ben, and Sam. Their intelligence and talents amaze me. While I regret not witnessing their settled happiness in professions and relationships, I understand that today’s youth embrace a different pace of life.
I’ve lived a rich, fulfilling existence. As a young student nurse, I met Bob, the love of my life, a budding medical student. Our journey began after graduation as we traversed his orthopedic residency. Amidst our adventures, we welcomed our children, and I seamlessly transitioned into managing our bustling household. Sailing, skiing, cooking, gardening, entertaining, tennis, and fitness filled our days. These passions wove the fabric of our family life, a legacy I cherish deeply.
My roots trace back to Sudbury, Ontario, where Ivan and Luena (Bellamy) Daley raised me, the youngest of four girls: Marlene (predeceased), Joyce, and Gwen. At age two, we moved to Stayner, where I attended Byng Public School before continuing my education at Collingwood Collegiate. My nursing journey commenced at the Atkinson School of Nursing, Toronto Western Hospital, where fate intertwined my path with Bob’s. Our marriage marked the beginning of a journey that took us from San Francisco, California, to Louisville, Kentucky, before returning to Toronto and eventually settling in Owen Sound.
My going out party will be held sometime late summer, location and date to be determined.
