Obituary
July 21, 1950 – February 1, 2023
John Stephen Riley, 72, of Moncton, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Toronto, he was the son of the late Thomas and Connie (Earnshaw) Riley.
John loved many things in life; motorcycle racing, wrestling in his youth and snowboarding. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage, working in his garage and building his dream home, especially his kitchen where he loved cooking for his family and all those who came through the door. John enjoyed going on many day trips around the Maritimes with his wife and spending quality time with his family. He was the strength and mentor to his family. John met the love of his life, Maggie, in Toronto in the 70’s and were married in 1982. They moved to Moncton and raised their family here for the past 40 years. John worked for DuBois Chemicals in the Pulp & Paper division for 45+ years and was a well respected and sought after expert in his field. John was dedicated to his career and leaves behind a lasting legacy that will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
John will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Margaret Riley (McKenzie); his children, Cejay Riley (Bobby Votour), Nikki (Mitchell) Wallace, McKenzie Riley (Véronique MacDougall); grandchildren, Porter Wallace, Hudson Wallace and Jack Riley; sister, Karen (Richard) Lilley; brothers, Randy (Sandy), Ric (Donna) and Ron (Diane); brother-in-law Ian (Elaine) McKenzie as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Martin and In-laws Alex and Jean McKenzie.
A Celebration of John’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:00 pm followed by a reception.
