The family of Wayne McCarthy are saddened to announce his
passing on February 12th, 2024, at Pine Grove
Nursing Home.
Wayne was born April 24th, 1938, in
Chatham, NB. The family later moved to
Fredericton. He is survived by his wife Maxine (Goodine) and
sons Michael and Mark (Lori), granddaughters Chelsey and Megan DeBoer
(Mike), sister Allye Lou McCarthy, sister-in-law Winnifred McCarthy
and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Phyllis (Phee)
McCarthy and his brothers Currie and Woody.
Wayne enjoyed playing and watching baseball and hockey on
TV. He played baseball with Acadia Marble and hockey with
the RCAF clubs. In earlier years he worked at the post
office and then at the time of retirement he was working at Waterloo
Esso.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at
Pine Grove Nursing Home for their amazing care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bishop’s
Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. A
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
