James William Smith passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2023.
Age 97 years.
Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Evelyn, along with their three sons, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He always opened his heart to spouses and partners, making them feel as though they were his own.
Jimmy was adored by everyone who was blessed to have known him in his long and happy life as a great athlete, hard worker, and successful entrepreneur.
Never one to turn down a brandy, he was happiest when surrounded by family with Glen Miller on the stereo.
Jimmy was known for his love for sunny days on Clear Lake, a round of golf with his grandchildren and his unwavering faith in the Toronto Maple Leafs.
We will always remember his kind nature, great sense of humour and his ability to turn every get together into a party. He will forever be a part of each and every one of us.
Our sincere thank you to the staff at the Gardens and West Parry Sound Health Centre for the amazing care they provided.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Parry Sound Health Centre (Palliative Care Unit).
