Passed away peacefully at Hampton Terrace in Burlington Ontario on February 12th at the age of 99 years, just short of her 100th birthday. Born in Goderich, Ontario on May 28th, 1924. Married in 1945 and predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years Lorne Rooney a WWII vet. Also predeceased by her loving son in 2005 Lawrence Rooney Jr. Lovingly remembered by son George Rooney, grandchildren Jennifer Rooney, Melissa Anstey (Nee Rooney), Tara Rooney, David Rooney, and Evan Rooney. Great grandchildren Adam, Stephanie, Hayden, Miranda, Curtis and Emma. Great great grandmother of Penelope. Lillian was a Bell Canada Pioneer. She retired in 1982. Lillian outlived her four sisters and two brothers and is survived by her many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff of Hampton Terrace for their great care in her final years. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 7 East Ave. S. (between King and Main) on Friday February 16, 2024 from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church(440 King St. E) on Saturday February 17, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
