It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Stephen (Steve) Charles Beatty at the age of 64. Steve passed peacefully at his residence in Dundas, Ontario on Saturday, February 3, 2024.
Born on April 11, 1959, Steve was raised in Woodstock, Ontario, first born son of the late John (Jack) Beatty (1991) and Rose (Laskoski) Beatty.
Steve is survived by his wife and best friend, Tracey Harrod, and her children Ashton and Keaton Hunter. He was the proud father of Alexandra (Jake) Murray and Jack (Samantha) Beatty, and loving Grandfather to the light of his life, Noah Beatty. He is also survived by his mother, Rose Beatty, his brother Bill (Maria) Beatty, niece Brittany (Ryan) Napman, and great niece Maddie Napman. Steve is also survived by Mitzi Beatty, Steve’s former partner and mother of Alexandra and Jack.
Steve graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982, with a focus on International Relations. He competed on the world stage in the sport of rowing, representing Canada at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. He continued with cycling, raising money for charities and golfing with his friends.
