Duane Warren Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Duane Richard Warren, 54 years old, of Ponoka, Alberta on January 23rd, 2024 with his family by his side.
Duane was born on June 5th, 1969 to William Warren and Genevieve Warren (nee Dubitz) in Edmonton, Alberta. He grew up in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. After Duane graduated from Sir John Franklin Territorial High School he went on to study Electronics at NAIT in Edmonton, Alberta.
Duane lived a very humble life and truly understood the value of family and friendship. He was very social and enjoyed visiting and meeting new people. Although he had many challenges in his life he never gave up and always persevered through. His strong values and love for others truly were his greatest achievement. Duane was talented at carpentry and enjoyed fixing electronics. He also loved playing guitar and listening to music. Duane was a dedicated Godfather to his nieces Ava and Laura.
Duane was predeceased by his mother, Genevieve Warren. He is survived by his father, William (Susan)Warren, his sisters Brenda Warren (Jeff) and Caroline (Brian) Burgess and nieces, Ava, Maia, and Laura Burgess whom he adored. He also leaves behind his step-sisters, Katie, Erin, and Kristin, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
A Funeral Service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
