Obituary of Marjorie Savoie Bernard
With heavy hearts, the family of Marjorie (Cahill) Savoie Bernard wishes to share the news of her death on January 22nd, 2024 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Marjorie was born in Summerside, PEI on November 4th, 1938 to the late Beatrice (Gallant) Cahill and the late James Cahill. She was the youngest of 8 siblings and the last survivor of her immediate family.
As well as her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Marc Savoie (2009) and husband Raymond Bernard (2018). Marjorie is survived by daughters Donna (Bob) Grant, New Glasgow, Nicole Savoie Boone (Glen Boone) Amherst, and Michèle Morrison, Miramichi NB., as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Camping, bluegrass festivals, listening to old-time country music, cards, reading and watching movies were a few of Marjorie’s favourite past times. She enjoyed homemaking and had been involved in UCT.
The family would like to thank her GP, Dr. Oluwabamise, for his care over the last few years. Additionally, we would like to express our appreciation to the staff of Parkland at the Lakes for their kind attentiveness to Mom. We are also grateful for the kind and respectful care given to Mom by the nurses and staff of the Inpatient Overflow Unit at the Halifax Infirmary.
We have entrusted Mom to the care of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service and burial to be held at a later date. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
