Reginald Wilbert Chard “Bert”
November 6th, 1931- January 27th, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
Predeceased by his loving wife- Aggie, daughters- Christine, Daphne, son- Monty and daughter-in-law Beverly, still born twins, parents- Howard and Jessie Chard, brothers- Eugene, Raymond, sisters- Eileen and Gertie.
Remaining to fondly remember are his 4 sons- Wayne (Sylvia), Tony (Shirley), Paul (Rhonda) and Todd (Beverly), son-in-law Albert, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandson, brothers- Edward and Barry, sister- Vivian, brothers and sisters- in- law.
Bert was born in Bonavista and lived there all of his life. He worked several years in Road Construction in various areas around the province. Bert worked side by side with his son Monty (Chards Construction Ltd.) for several years as a carpenter in residential and commercial construction.
He will be missed by a large circle of family and friends.
Public Visitation will be held at Strathie’s Funeral Home, Bonavista on Monday, January 29th and Tuesday, January 30th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm.
Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, January 31st at 2:00pm from Memorial United Church, Bonavista.
