It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth George ‘Ken’ Hobbs on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the age of 74 years. He passed away peacefully at his daughter Karie’s home.
Ken was born April 20, 1949, at Innisfail, Alberta to George and Edna Hobbs and grew up on the family farm in the Glenellen district, east of Innisfail. The family moved to a farm in the Dovercourt district, south of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta in 1966. Ken’s passion for horses and the outdoors began at an early age as he and his sister had to ride to the Glenellen School on horseback until the rural schools were closed and the students were bussed to Innisfail. Being able to ride and hunt remained a big part of his life right up until his passing.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Karie (Ward), his grandchildren, Cohen and Quinn, his brother, Dale (Mary), his sister, Cheryl (Kevin), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Ken was predeceased by his parents George and Edna Hobbs, his sister, Laurie, and his brothers-in-law, Gary Stait, and Randy Munro.
A Celebration of Ken’s Life will be held at the Heartland Funeral Services Chapel, 4415 – 49 Street, Innisfail, Alberta on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations may be made to the Saving Grace Animal Society at P.O.
