It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Donald John Marshall of Listowel at the Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 21, 2024 in his 93rd year.
Beloved husband of 69 years to the late Betty Marie (Rabideau) Marshall (September 19, 2023).
Loving father of Susan Newton (Brad), Karen St. Pierre and Brad Marshall (Anita). Also survived by son-in-law Earl Gill, many nieces & nephews, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents Norman & Muriel (Warrington) Marshall; sisters Shirley, Betty and Donna; brothers Kenneth, Bob and William; sons Paul & Kenny; son-in-law Paul St. Pierre and daughter Linda Gill.
John was a member of the Listowel Legion for many Years. He was a long-time employee of the Listowel Public Utilities and often spoke fondly of his co-worker Gordy Hymers. John loved working as a crossing guard, which he did for many years. John was a kind gentleman and loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He will definitely be missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank Virginia, Jerome, Brian and Michelle Lane for all their assistance over the years. A very special thank you to Dr. Latuskie and all the nursing staff for their excellent care while John was in the Listowel Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Listowel Community Family Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 10 am until the time of service for family & friends to be held at 11 am with Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating.
Cremation with interment at Fairview Cemetery, Listowel
