It is with heavy hearts that the family of Winnifred Margaret Gervais, announce her passing which occurred on January 29, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1943, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Joan (Martin) Kelly.
Winnie was a dedicated and valued member of the nursing team at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. In her spare time, she was a successful and well-respected breeder of Airedale Terriers and formed many connections and friendships over the years both in Canada and United States.
Winnie is survived by her children; Blair Happeney, Derrick Happeney, Christa Price, Cheryl Dempsey, Kelly Carvell-Happeney, Stacey Gervais-Bissett and Chantel Gervais-Boyd. She is also remembered by her siblings; Alan Kelly, Judy Deschenes, Carmen Kelly, Janette Dunn, Wendy Surette, Pauline Kelly, Arlene Carvell, Leola Kelly and Ila Ross.
In addition to her parents, Winnie is predeceased by her sister Loretta Morrison.
In keeping with her wishes, no formal visitation or funeral service will take place at this time. A memorial mass will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations towards the Animal Rescue League or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
