Wendy Louise (Rogers) Purvis passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on Wednesday, January 17th, 2024. Age 66 years.
Loving wife of David. Cherished daughter of the late Mark and Grace Rogers. Dear sister of Roberta and her husband Terry Dunlop; and the late Dennis Rogers (survived by his wife Caroline). Fondly remembered by her nieces Elizabeth Dunlop (Bradley); and Linda Hornyak (Jerry), and her nephew Robert Dunlop (Katherine). Wendy will be sadly missed by her cousins, other relatives and friends.
Wendy enjoyed a successful career in Human Resources Management, then changed her focus to industrial production to gain a different perspective. She retired from Crofters Food Ltd., Parry Sound, in December 2022 to enjoy life in Carling, Ontario
Wendy was a joy and inspiration to all that have known her. She is described as a warm, kind, generous person with a witty sense of humour. She never spoke ill of anyone and always made time for people. Wendy cherished her dogs, and always stopped to give attention to animals she met in the course of her travels. She had a talent for disarming the most nervous and aggressive — humans and dogs alike! Wendy loved to entertain and lovingly hosted gatherings and celebrations for her family and friends. After retiring, she generously donated time to assist Ukrainian immigrants with their desire to integrate into Canadian society.
As was Wendy’s wish, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held in the summer of 2024.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary (www.aspenvalley.ca) would be appreciated.
