It is with great sadness that the family of Meta Dinah Clarke of Fortune announce her passing. Our wife, mother, sister and grandmother passed away peacefully at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on Jan. 15, 2024, aged 72.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her husband of 44 years, Charles; children, Sherry (Colin) of Paradise, Charlene (Lionel) of Paradise, Jonathan (Cathrina) of St. John’s; grandchildren, Eva, Macy, Jaxson; sisters, Phyllis Penney (Aubrey), Elaine Moulton (Murray); brothers, Freeman Foote (Mary), Howard Foote (Judy), Gilbert Foote; sister in-law, Geraldine Foote; uncles, Joe Hillier, Calvin Foote; plus a circle of extended family and friends.
Meta was predeceased by parents Lucy & Norman Foote; brother, Norman Foote Jr.; parents-in-law, Jessie & James Clarke
The family would like to thank the staff of the Burin Hospital for their care of our loved one over the last 2 years of her illness, as well as the staff of the Blue Crest Home after a very short stay. Special thanks to the public health nurses in Marystown and dedicated home care worker/friend Carol Ann.
The Clarke Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Fortune on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Funeral service will be at the United Church, Fortune on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Fortune.
In Meta’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations can graciously be made to the Clarke Family.
A limb has fallen from our family tree,
