Jeff was born to a loving mother, Joanne Chappelle, and father, Donald Lounsbury, in London ON. on 21 March 1966. He spent his childhood developing a compassion for all living things and an equal excitement for things that had an engine. He spent his youth living in various South Western Ontario towns and cities, with deep roots in Simcoe County. Jeff would eventually become an industrial water blaster, which lasted as his main career for over 20 years. This career would lead him to Chatham ON. where he would find and marry the love of his life, Mary Lounsbury on 28 September 1996. Jeff eagerly took Mary’s only child at the time, Felecia Edmondson, and would go on to raise her as his own flesh and blood. Jeff and Mary would also give birth to their son, Dalton Lounsbury, whom he would also love dearly.
Jeff had many passions, although he was always hesitant to identify with any one hobby in particular. With certainty, Jeff enjoyed any adventure that would allow him to be close to those he loved, to explore the world, and to challenge himself mentally and physically. Throughout his life, this looked liked riding horses and dirt-bikes, to becoming a full fledged grease monkey and chasing his best car, to building and flying model aircraft, to going on far and fast motorcycle road trips, to playing video games, to reading deeply into life’s mysteries, to weightlifting and maintaining good physical fitness, to photography, especially taking pictures of critters, to kayaking any body of water he could, and to camping in the back country and island hopping in Georgian Bay.
Jeff was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. During his battle, he was the best fighter. Never backing down and always facing the threat with confidence. At every low and high, he was constantly planning new ways to keep moving forward and pushing himself to new heights. His courage and resilience to bounce back after each low was a true inspiration to those around him. On 10 January 2023, Jeff peacefully lost his battle while surrounded by love. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lounsbury, daughter and son, Felecia Edmonson and Dalton Lounsbury, father, Donald Lounsbury, mother, Joanne Chappelle, brother, Dale Lounsbury, and extended family. He will be remembered forever in our hearts.
