Edna Mary Janet Gustafson
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side. At Ottawa General Hospital on Sunday January 7th, 2024. Edna was in her 89th year, beloved wife and best friend of Frederick Gustafson for 59 years. Loving mother of Eric Gustafson and Cynthia Gustafson. Special Granmma to Mitchell Gustafson. Dear daughter of the Late Bertha and Elijah Hart. Dear sister of Charlie and Barbara Hart (deceased) Beryl and Wilson Martin (deceased) Dear Sister-in-law of the late Patricia Cray, Shirley and Andrew Joss. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Edna was born on Fogo Island, Newfoundland, she eventually came to Ottawa where she spent many years as an employee of the Royal Bank. Edna and Fred lived in Orleans for some time before settling in Kemptville. Edna was a good soul, kind-hearted and loved her family. She was always up for a good conversation. Everyone who knew her would describe her as a real sweetheart. A Celebration of Edna’s Life will be held at the Kemptville Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 805 Prescott Street, Kemptville on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 11 am followed immediately by a reception at the Funeral Home. A special thanks to the Ottawa General Hospital caregiving staff for the wonderful care given to Edna. Donations to the charity of your choice will be gratefully accepted.
