It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Beatrice Leslie on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Constance (Branch) Leslie.
Linda left this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
Linda’s journey was marked by a fulfilling career as a Personal Support Worker, where she dedicated herself to caring for others. Her retirement in late 2022 marked the end of a chapter filled with compassion and unwavering commitment to those she served. Linda cherished her profession, finding joy in making a positive impact on the lives of the people she cared for.
Beyond her professional life, Linda was a woman of many talents. She was exceptionally crafty, finding solace and joy in the art of knitting, crocheting, and rug hooking. Her creations, filled with care and creativity, stand as a testament to her artistic spirit.
Linda’s commitment to her community was evident in her volunteer work. She served with dedication for several years in the Ladies Auxiliary for the Rough Waters Branch of the St. Anne Regional Fire Department, offering her support to those who risked their lives for the safety of others. Additionally, Linda was member of the Heritage Rug Hooking Guild of New Brunswick, contributing her creativity and passion for rug hooking to the preservation of traditional crafts.
Above all, Linda was a loving and caring mother. Her unconditional love and devotion to her family were the cornerstones of her life.
She is survived by her two daughters, Krista Taylor (spouse Brian Taylor) and Kara Theriault (former spouse Daniel Doucet and current partner Johann Rummeda along with his 2 daughters Hayley and Hanna and his grandson Loki), and her son, Jeffery Theriault (spouse Amanda Theriault). Linda leaves behind a legacy of love in her five granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Meagan, Skylar, Everly, and Juliah, and her six grandsons, Mathew, Noah, Connor, Patrick, Charlie, and the late Axle.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday January 11th, 2024 at St. George’s Anglican Church, Bathurst. Friends and family are invited to join and share their fond memories.
