Helen Davey Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Helen Suzanne (Rankine) Davey, announce her passing at Tucker Hall Shannex, Millidgeville on January 3, 2024. Helen was born on June 24, 1937, in Fredericton, NB, and was the daughter of the late Douglas and Doris Roberta (Gamble) Rankine. Helen married her husband Edward know to most as Mike in 1957. They rarely missed a Saturday night dance and were deemed by many as the best dancers on the floor. In their later years they took up clogging and partook in many of the clogging group events that included dancing for the seniors at nursing homes. During her retirement years Helen was very active bowling on two leagues, card games, annual senior games and traveling. Helen was an avid reader.
One of the greatest pleasures in Helen’s life was spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed every moment spent with her family cherishing Christmas, birthdays, barbeques etc. She will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Helen is survived by her sons Michael (Donna), Mark (Rose), and Darren; beloved grandchildren, Katie, Josh, Marcus, Megan and Jack; great grandchildren, Jamieson, Rylee and Oliver as well as her niece Lori. Helen was predeceased by her parents, husband Edward (Mike), daughter Wendy Lynn and brother Robert (Bob) and sister in law Ramona. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff at Shannex, for their kindness, compassion and friendship shown to Helen during her illness. It takes special people to do the work that you do, and you are greatly respected by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 10-11 am. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Chapel at 11:00 am. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
