Madelane Cecile Riley, born June 29, 1933, passed away on December 29, 2023. She was the cherished daughter of the late Kenneth and Cecile Riley and the oldest sibling to Raymond (Margaret), Diane (the late Earl), the late Bruce (Normand) and Larry (the late Sharon).
She was married to the late Lawrence Cooney, and they had five children: Garry (June), Ross, the late Deborah, Gale, and the late Mark.
Madelane was a proud grandmother to Gregory, Cathy, Andrea (Robert), Allison (Gord) and Nancy (Carl) and a great-grandmother to 20, and a great-great-grandmother to 3 with two more expected in 2024.
Devoting her life to helping others, Madelane was honored with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award in 2012.
A celebration of her life will take place at Voluntas Funeral Home, 4695 St-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc H9H 2A7, on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Condolences welcomed between 1-3 p.m. Service to follow at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to WIAIH or Rosie Animal Adoption would be greatly appreciated.
May her memory bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
