Edward McKeown Obituary
Ed McKeown, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at Matthews House Hospice on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the age of 80.
Ed was raised on the family farm in Adjala outside of Alliston, ON along with his five brothers and 4 sisters. He married Idun (Aranha) in 1975 and together they had three children. He started his career as a teacher but eventually followed his passion for farming and spent most of his life farming the land near where he was raised.
Ed’s true joy came from spending time with his family and friends. He truly enjoyed the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He enjoyed attending their sporting events, celebrating their achievements, or just having a quiet visit and sharing a beer.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Idun; children, Marc (Laura), Kevin (Emily), Ryan (Rachael), and his precious grandchildren, Madison, Trent, Sasha, Graham, Leah, Tyler, and Hailey,
He is also survived by siblings, Bert, and Norine. He was predeceased by his sisters Rosalie and Leona, and brothers Charles, Ronan, Thomas, Donald, and Vince.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (4781 Concession Road 5, Alliston, ON) on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at W. John Thomas Funeral Home (244 Victoria St E Alliston, ON).
