Colleen Faye Hoppenreys, a beacon of love and light, passed away on December 24, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of joy and compassion that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Born on July 14, 1961, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Colleen was a cherished daughter to Helen and Ron Walsh, and a beloved sister to Kevin and Shawn. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Dan, daughter Celina, sons Dana (Janice), and Duane (Jess). Her adored grandchildren: Chloe, Daxton, Dylan, Olivia, and Eden.
Colleen’s laughter and infectious spirit were the life of every gathering. Her unwavering commitment to serving the community of Elbow as Mayor spoke volumes of her selflessness and dedication. Her love knew no bounds, radiating warmth to family and friends alike. Her absence leaves a profound void that cannot be filled. Colleen’s vibrant spirit lives on through cherished memories and the enduring love she shared.
A celebration of Colleen’s remarkable life will be held at the Elbow Harbor Golf Community Centre in the upcoming spring. Reflecting her zest for life, she requested a celebration embodying her joyous spirit. Though she has departed, Colleen’s legacy of love, laughter, and service will forever echo in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed and eternally remembered.
