Phyllis Elizabeth (Allison) Norton, of Trout Brook, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, December 22, 2023, at the age of 92.
Born in Trout Brook, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Elizabeth (Dunnett) Allison. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to cooking and baking for her family she enjoyed knitting and in later years spent a lot of time playing games on her iPad. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren looked forward to their visits and adding to their collection of “grammie socks”
She will be greatly missed by her two daughters Donna Plaxton (Chuck) of Lower Derby, and Cheryl Travis of Miramichi; three sons Dale Norton (Debbie) of Sillikers, Ross Norton (Brenda) of Miramichi, and Kevin Norton of Trout Brook; three sisters Sarah Silliker (Late Harold) of Miramichi, Andrea Waye (Edward) of Trout Brook, and Elsie Baisley (Late Holly) of Miramichi; two brothers William Allison (Grace), and Stephen Allison (Dana) both of Trout Brook; 10 grandchildren Schyler, Christian, Alan, Jennifer, Brian, Betsy, Bobby, Keltie, Kyle and Nisha; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Hubert Norton; sister Ruth Williston; and brothers Wendell Allison and Hershel Allison.
The family will receive relatives and friends from Northumberland Funeral Home, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 2 PM, with Rev. Matthew Porter officiating. Interment will take place in the Miramichi Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for Dr. Gerard Losier and all of the nursing staff in Emergency and ICU for their kindness and care during this difficult time.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
