Doris Melanson, 95, of Moncton, passed away on Friday
December 15, 2023 at the Villa du Repos. Born in
Richibouctou-Village, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna
(Babineau) Richard.
She is survived by six children: Yvon (Susan), Denise
Melanson (Louis), Victor, Rachel Melanson (Bruce), Daniel (Shelley),
and David (Ellen); 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two
sisters: Rose Marie Strachan (Bob) and Alberte Richard (Tom
McLaughlin); three brothers: Benoit (late Pat), Alfred (Rita), and
Paul-Émile (Louise); as well as many nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Laurie (2010); four
sisters: Emma, Juliette, Jacqueline, and Sylvie; and four brothers:
Yvon, Noé, Odilon, and Laurent.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff
at the Villa du Repos for their wonderful care provided to Doris
during her stay.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900)
on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and Friday from 9:30 am until time of
departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated
at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, 220 St. George Street, Moncton,
on Friday December 22 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of
Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Doris, a contribution to a
charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
