Barbara Ann Lord
1945-2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing
of Barbara Ann (nee Camick) Lord of St. Stephen at the Charlotte
County Hospital on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Barb was survived by a
half-sister, Beverly Lawless.
Barb was born on May 1, 1945 to Mabel (Camick) Frost and
lovingly raised by her “Mom” Hazel (Johnson) and Charlie
Camick of Perry, Maine.
Barb graduated in 1963 from Shead Memorial High School. She
applied and was accepted to nursing school but due to her
mother’s failing health, stayed and cared for her
“mom”.
Barb met and married her love, Asa Lord on November 24, 1967.
Barb and Asa worked side by side in the fishing industry in a boat
they built themselves at their home on Deer
Island.
Barb loves her Lord and Savior with all her heart. She
accepted Him into her life in 1977. Barb taught Sunday School and was
always willing to help in outreach ministries as well as a ladies
Bible study at her home.
After Asa’s death in 2000, Barb left the Island to
live in St. George and eventually made her way to St. Stephen.
Wherever she resided, Barb made friend, most that considered her
family. On May 23, 2007, Barb became a Canadian Citizen, a very proud
moment in her life.
Milltown Baptist Church was Barb’s home church
where she met her companion of 4 years, Wesley Anthony, at a Grief
Share program. Barb and Wes had many adventures in their time together
that Barb held close to her heart.
Barb was predeceased by her son, Peter, in child birth, her
husband Asa, her mother Mabel, her grandmother “Mom” Hazel
and her grandfather Charlie.
Barb left behind her children she adopted in her heart
because she had so much love to give as well as many sisters and
brothers in Christ. Barb is very loved and missed. Until we meet again
in Glory.
