the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Sunday, December 17, 2023, with her
loving family by her side, of Mable Mary Matthews, of Alberton, age 82
years. Beloved wife of the late Earl George Matthews, who predeceased
her on July 11, 2017. Born at Palmer Road on May 17, 1941, she was the
daughter of the late Albert and Mary (nee Gaudet)
McCue.

Matthews, of Charlottetown, George (Mary), of Rocky Point, Carol
Matthews, of Charlottetown, Shelley (Shane), of Point Prim, Connie
(Emanuel) Bernard, of Alberton, Jamie (Charmaine Ellsworth), of
Cascumpec. Cherished grandmother to Austin, Tyler, Tonya, Madelyn,
Layla, Crystal, Darcy, Chelsey, Matthew, Mitchell, Jill, Maya, Jason,
and Noah. Great-grandmother to Austin, Payton, Gwen, Seth, Charlie,
Lexi, Gavin, Dylan, Caleb, Luke, Hanna, Ben, Grayson, Coralie, and
Wesley. Dear sister to Wilfred McCue, of Brookvale, and Mae (Ron)
Carter, of Toronto. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Allan
Winters, of Tignish. She was predeceased by her sisters, Lorraine
Winters, and Winnifred (late Velton) Thibodeau, and by a
sister-in-law, Shirley McCue.
Resting at the Rooney
Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Wednesday evening
from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Thursday afternoon from the E. Gerald
Rooney Memorial Chapel, for funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Ross
Morrison officiating. Interment in the Elmsdale United Church
Cemetery.
