Dulcie Pheobie Victoria Coates (Nee-Cassell)
Dulcie passed peacefully away at home surrounded with love from her family and close friends.
Dulcie was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer over a year ago at the age of 55.
Predeceased by her father Seymore Cassell, nephew Michael Snow, grandparents Bond and Grace Necho, William and Edith Cassell, mother-in-law Pearl Coates and brother-in-law Rhybert Coates.
Left to mourn with loving memories are her husband of 26 years, Gregory Coates, Mother Belinda, daughter Cavell Snow (Ira), son Scotty Coates, sisters Edith Snow (Mike), Darlene Cave (Raymond), Brenda Campbell (Scott), nieces, nephews and a large circle of family and friends.
Dulcie was born in Horwood on September 9th, 1968 to Seymore and Belinda Cassell. On December 10th, 2023 she went home to be with the Lord.
Dulcie was married in 1997 and moved to Wing’s Point to be with her husband. Cavell was her first born child who came along in 1993 and she stayed with her grandmother Belinda. Then in 1998, along came their first born together.
During Dulcie’s time in Wing’s Point while raising her son Scotty, she worked hard to help anyone she could wither it was helping with wood, mowing grass, shoveling snow or whatever else she could help with. She loved quilting, sewing, berry picking. She loved the outdoors and a good laugh with family and friends.
In May 24th, 2022 Dulcie was diagnosed with cancer and already had a decline in her health, decided to move in with her daughter Cavell and husband Ira in Gander to be near the hospital. Cavell and Ira took care of her as her health continued to decline. During that time they made many good memories together from moose hunting, travelling and berry picking.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses at the Cancer Clinic. Katie Philpott, Tammy Collins and Maralee Fleming. They were always there for her. Thanks to nurse Sarah Hobbs from Bell Place, to Dr. Nancy Culleton and Dr. Krista Blundell. A special thank you to the Palliative Care nurse Greg Banfield for all his love and support. The family would also like to say thanks to Regina Snow for all she has done for Dulcie. She was there from the first day she was diagnosed to her last breath.

A small family service will take place at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Gander on Wednesday, December 13th . Interment will follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Horwood.
