Harold J. Pafford
November 17, 1924 – December 8, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harold Pafford announce his passing on December 8, 2023 at the age of 99 years. He was a proud WWII veteran, who enlisted with the British forces and served overseas as part of the 166 Newfoundland Field Regiment, Royal Artillery. He is predeceased by his wife Sarah in 2003 as well as his mother, father, and siblings.
Left to celebrate his life with loving memories are daughters, Sandra Hounsell (Lew), Sharon Clements, and Sheila Wooley (Bob-deceased); sons, Bill and Paul Pafford (Mona); Grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Hounsell, Adrienne Fillatre (Gerald); Andrew (Jane) and Sarah Clements; Travis (Emily) and Roger (Melissa) Wooley; Raina Allen (Robert) and Peter Pafford (Sasha); great grandchildren Morgan & Nate Fillatre, Evan, Ava and Miles Wooley and Lincoln Allen; his special friend Freda Moores and her kind and loving family, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 10 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on St. Mark’s Avenue. The funeral will take place at All Saints’ Anglican Church, Clarence Street at 2 PM on Monday, December 11. Internment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
Thank you to Dr. Peter Callahan, the staff of Western Memorial Regional Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit for their kindness during his brief stay there as well as Rev. Tanya White and his many visitors for their care and concern.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to All Saints’ Anglican Church.
