Brett Lutz Obituary
Brett Lutz passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta, on Monday, December 4, 2023, with family by his side. He is now free from pain, after suffering a long battle with colorectal cancer.
Brett is survived by his father Rick Lutz, and furry friend Kelly (Airdrie, AB); sister Lisa Lutz (Edmonton, AB); brother Colin Lutz (Kamloops, BC); and sister Mysti Bateham and brother-in-law Verlyn Bateham (Sandspit, BC). He leaves behind two nieces, Halle Lutz (Edmonton, AB), and Saoirse Bateham (Sandspit, BC); and his great-nephew Silas Lutz (Edmonton). There are numerous extended family members as well.
Thank you to special aunt Cathy Hogue (Whitecourt), for the ongoing emotional support during this difficult journey. Brett was predeceased by his mother, Eloise Lutz (nee Hamer) in 2010.
He was a kind and gentle soul, with a keen sense of humour and a love of electronics, gaming, nature, and animals. He enjoyed creating drone videos, watching movies, reading, and spending time with family. As per Brett’s request, cremation will occur and there will be no service.
On his final day of life, Brett said: “Family is the most important thing” and encouraged us all to “Remember the good times!” Brett, you are loved always, and never forgotten. We will meet again in the next realm!
