The world lost its #1 Sports Fan (sorry Boston Bruins, Toronto Argos, and to all the golfers…) as Bob passed peacefully in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Beloved husband to Patricia (nee Morgan) for over 25 years. Bob will be dearly missed by his children Ruth Matthews (John), and David Chisholm (Carly), and his grandchildren Cade and Jack Matthews, and Levi and Dax Chisholm. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his sister Nancy Lyness (Glenn), his niece Nikki Slinger (Keith) and their children Caleb and Conor. Bob is predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Doris Green, and his nephew Trevor Lyness.
Born in Brampton, Robert/Bob/Bobby/Clem’s love of sports began with cheering for the Boston Bruins. As an employee of Ford Motor Company for 35 years, Bob enjoyed playing many rounds of golf with the Ford Retirees. But most of all, Bob loved spending time with his family at their cottage in Sauble Beach, winters in Florida, and cheering on his grandsons.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 3-6 p.m with Tributes and Toast to be held at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
