Duchesneau, Jacques Nicolas (Nick). March 25, 1932 – December 02, 2023
In loving memory of Nick Duchesneau, who passed away peacefully in Collingwood, ON at the age of 91. Born in Montebello, Quebec and the youngest in a family with 8 brothers and sisters, Nick joined the air force in 1951 as a radio operator and while enlisted met his future wife, Phyllis. They would eventually settle in Toronto where they raised their sons Richard and Louis. Nick worked for Transport Canada for over 25 years as a highly respected radar standards officer. He was often summoned to airports throughout Ontario to problem solve and oversee the repair and maintenance of radar issues. Upon retirement, Nick balanced his time by volunteering for a local charity, travelling to Florida, maintaining his Camaros, making his famous vanilla fudge and being an astute handicapper at the local racetrack. Nick’s final years were spent in Collingwood, ON close to his family and enjoying Saturday luncheons of smoked salmon, oysters, coconut cream pie and a glass or 2 of wine. Always a class act, Nick will be sorely missed.
Survived by sons Richard and Louis (Rosalind), grandchildren Dan, Kristyn and Topaz and great grandchildren Jackson and Bella.
Special thanks to the staff at Pine Villa Retirement Home in Collingwood who provided Nick with an exceptional high level of care and comfort in his later years.
A celebration of life will take place in the spring of 2024. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
