It is with great sadness, and with hearts filled with love, that we say goodbye to the amazing Bridget Patricia Cooper. Bridget passed away very peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, two days after celebrating her 95th birthday, at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, where she was a resident for almost 5 years.
Bridget is predeceased by her parents William and Catherine Cooper, and all of her siblings Jack, Rita, Jim, Bill and Eric, brother-in-law Howard and sisters-in-law Phyllis and Helen and her dear friend Angela Power. Bridget kept all of her loved ones alive in her heart by always sharing wonderful memories about them, as family was everything to her.
Bridget leaves behind the most precious gift that was ever given to her, daughter Shirley Power (Brian), two grandchildren who she loved with all her heart, Brent Power (Melissa) and Gillian Power (Eoin Mulcahy), and her newest pride and joy, her great-grandson Anderson Power. She also leaves behind sister-in-law Phyllis, many nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and great nephews in which she played a very important part in their lives, including special nieces Lisa Martin, Christina Manning, Cathy Hammond and Roseinna Murray and nephews Scott Cooper, Randy Cooper, Terry Cooper and Paul Williams, and special friend Marie Conroy.
Cremation has taken place as Bridget wished. The family will receive visitors on Sunday December 3rd from 2-7 PM at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Funeral mass will be held at the Basilica Cathedral of St. John The Baptist on Monday, December 4th at 1pm with interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Words cannot begin to express our gratitude towards the entire staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy home, in particular the staff of 3 East. Your compassion, professionalism and genuine care for our dear mother and grandmother, when we no longer could care for her at home, will never be forgotten.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Bridget’s memory may be made to St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Foundation – spmhf.nl.ca/ .
