William Lloyd Faulhafer
1939-2023
After a prolonged illness Bill passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Stratford General Hospital with his loving wife of 51 years, Patricia Ann (nee McKinnon) by his side. Bill was predeceased by his parents Nelson and Almeda, brothers and sisters in law Bob and Marlene, Doug and Elsie and nephews Steven and David Faulhafer.
Family was very important to Bill he will be fondly remembered by the McKinnon family and his many nieces and nephews. Bill was always kind, generous and comforting to family and friends and his dry sense of humour was infectious.
Bill retired in 1994 after 34 years with the Stratford Police Department where he held the position of Resource Coordinator. Early retirement allowed Bill and Pat to enjoy travel to a number of different countries including Italy, Portugal, Scotland and many trips to Florida with Doug and Susan. Bill was a long-time community volunteer with the Stratford Big Brothers Association as a Big Brother as well as a member of the Board of Directors. Bill also served on the Board of Directors with the establishment of the Big Sisters Association in Stratford.
Bill will be remembered by many in Stratford for his love of vehicles including a number of corvettes but restoring vintage cars was a passion he enjoyed pursuing.
A special thanks to all the doctors, and nurses at Stratford General Hospital, the care and compassion given to Bill was outstanding and will never be forgotten. Bill and Pat extend a special thank you to their family physician Dr. Ryan McKee of the Centre for Family Medicine for his excellent care, compassion, and comfort that he provided Bill and Pat at this time and over the past years.
Friends and family are invited to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron St, Stratford on Saturday, December 2, 2023, with visiting from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Bill’s mass at 11:00 a.m. Reception will be held immediately following the mass at the Stratford Country Club, 53 Romeo St, N, Stratford from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
