Irene Caroline Jefferies
September 12, 1942 – November 24, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Irene Caroline Jefferies announce her passing on November 24, 2023, at the age of 81 years.
Leaving to mourn are her children Bliss Jefferies and Pamela Simmons (Dion); step-daughter Phyllis Bailey (Frank); grandchildren Richard Jefferies, Liam Simmons, Kylie Simmons, Paul Bailey, Frank Bailey Jr., Yolanda Coffey, Terri Lynn Jefferies, and Carmelita Young; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings Gerald Janes (Donna), Dexter Janes (Pauline), Roy Janes (Bessie), Maisie Epstein and Levi Janes (Jean); special family members Joy Moss (Darren), Jordan Moss, and Jasmine Burton.
Irene was predeceased by her husband Bruce Jefferies, stepson Bernard Jefferies, parents Willis and Jessie Janes; brother Bobby Janes; sister Barbara Janes and brother-in-law Sidney Epstein.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Melanie Young, the nurses at the Community Health Clinic on Farm Road, and the home care workers.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Sunday, November 26, 2023, from the hours of 7:00-9:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Emmanual Pentecostal Church on Monday, November 27, 2023, beginning at 2:00 pm with Pastor White officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery.
