Obituary of Ronald David Murdoch
It is with sadness that the family of Ronald David Murdoch announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on November 19th, 2023.
Born November 9th, 1946, Ronnie was a life long resident of Fredericton. He attended St. Dunstan’s School, Fredericton High School and took several courses at St. Thomas University and the University of New Brunswick. He was a member of St. Dunstan’s Church.
Along with his love of hockey and baseball, he played in several rock bands in his early days where he was known as “Bass Murdoch”.
Ronnie is survived by his sister Verna Shaw (the late Bob Shaw), his brother Darrell (Eleanor) Murdoch, his sister-in-law Elaine Murdoch and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Ruby (Donahue) Murdoch, a very special Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Norman Murdoch, his sisters Rowena, Roberta and Nancy Murdoch and his brother Bob Murdoch.
There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Suresh Savariraj at St Dunstan’s Catholic Church on Thursday, November 23rd at 12 noon. For those who wish, donations may be made to Hospice House Fredericton or the charity of one’s choice.
