Yvonne Williams Obituary
Yvonne Williams was born on June 14th, 1942, to her parents Marie and George Larsen, where she grew up in Madison Park, Seattle, Washington and graduated from Holy Names High School. She had a brother 3 years after she was born, Brooke Larsen. Brooke and Yvonne had a good sibling relationship throughout her life. The Larsen family was small and extended family was as well.
Yvonne then started her own family and was married to Gerry Adair at the age of 22 and went on to have her only child, Heather Adair, in 1965.
A few years later, Yvonne followed her parents to Calgary, Alberta and settled in the area for many years and remained in Canada throughout her life. She followed her daughter Heather to BC in the 90’s where she resided for a few years and then moved to Vancouver Island where she remained through the rest of her life. The last 20 years was spent on Quadra Island where she enjoyed the community and friends which became the ideal location for her interests.
Yvonne always was an avid reader, very interested in the arts and culture and was very talented in many areas of creative endeavors. She was self-taught in all her pursuits from cooking, drawing, sewing and gardening. She was very interested in current events, politics and enjoyed being surrounded by nature and friends. She had good ties to the family of Strathcona Lodge where she had spent time and had a long friendship with Myrna Boulding throughout the years.
With a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in the summer of 2022, she soon was admitted to Discovery Harbour care facility in Campbell River where she has lived out her life there and made many friends and had some nice times with family visits and outings.
Yvonne will be missed by her family and friends.
