Elson “Sam” Drakes Obituary
Elson (Sam) Drakes was born in Barbados, W.I. and moved to Canada in 1957 to attend Psychiatric Nursing School in Ponoka, AB. where he worked at Alberta Hospital until he retired.
Sam is survived by his son Jim Drakes and grandchildren Elson Joshua, Jazzika and Jaydenn; daughter Cecilia Drakes and granddaughter Zoe; grandson Justin Drakes and great-grandchildren Charlotte and Nadia; great-grandson Scott Crowe; Sisters Hilda and Diana and relatives in Chicago, IL.
Elson was predeceased by his son Mark Drakes and granddaughter Tessa Drakes.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
