It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Hanrahan on November 8, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Leaving to mourn are his daughter, Phyllis Baker (Mike); his son, Dion Hanrahan (Rebeca Savela); granddaughters Mikayla and Hannah Baker; and grandsons Oliver and Adrian Hanrahan.
Loving memories from his siblings, Martin Hanrahan (Marg), John Hanrahan Jr. (Maggie), Mary Walsh (Gerald), Michael Hanrahan (Anne) and in laws Pat Hanrahan, Ken Lambe, Joan Coady (Bill), Sue Keating, Florence Walsh (Dan), Mary Power (Tom), Brian Lambe (Linda), Larry Lambe (Bonnie) and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pre-deceased by his wife, Bridget; his parents, John Patrick and Susanna Hanrahan; brother, Bernard; sister, Elizabeth Dober; parents-in-law, Harry & Philomena Lambe; and brothers-in-law, Joe, Rick and Harry Lambe.
Remembered by his friends at Janes Pond, Hannah Lambe, Phonse & Margaret Murphy and Geraldine Power and his friends at the Southern Classic Antique Car Club.
Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, social workers and staff at 1 South and 2 South at Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion in Carbonear for their care during the past three years. There are too many to name individually who treated Phil like their own family during his stay and our heartfelt thanks are with you as you made things so much easier for him during difficult times.
In honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place.
The Hanrahan Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Homes, Marystown on
Friday, November 10th
10am – 12noon
2pm – 4pm
7pm – 9pm
Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown on Saturday, November 11th, 2023 at 10am. Inurnment will follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown.
In Philip’s memory, flowers are welcome or a donation can be made to the SPCA, Beagle Paws (for Phil’s beloved Tia), or a charity of ones choice.
