Passed peacefully on November 6, 2023, at Joseph Brant Hospital in his 98th year, surrounded by his children. Beloved husband for 70 years of his wife Betty Pearl Beer (nee Mason). Cherished father of Robert (Ingrid), Karen Moffat (Doug) and Carol Woods (Brian). Proud grandpa of Jennifer (Ben), Nathan (Kelsey), Kaitlyn (Nolan), Rebecca, Megan, Quinlan (Maddy) and Clayton and brother-in-law of Robert Mason, uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Floyd and Don. Born in Bosanquet Township and raised on a farm near Forest, Ontario, Harold was an Ontario Provincial Police officer in several communities around Ontario. After retirement, he and Betty discovered a love of travel, and went on trips to most parts of the world. They also took up golf, and played together into their 90’s. They enjoyed dances at the Waterdown Legion and euchre with their friends.
The family would like to send special thanks to the doctors and staff on 7S at Joseph Brant Hospital for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
The family will receive friends at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 6 to 8 PM. Memorial Service will be held at GRACE ANGLICAN CHURCH, 157 Mill St. N, Waterdown (parking is off Main Street) on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11 AM.
