With great sadness we announce our son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on October 31, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He leaves behind his mom and dad, Willard and Linda Yellow Face (nee Yellow Horn); his brothers who he loved unconditionally: Cam (Sylvia), Ashley(Joni), Keith (Tashina) and sister Melodie Bastien. He had so much love for his nieces & nephews: Cauy, Calim, Wyatt, Jayce, Mikayla, Ameria, Joseph, Logan and Star; his great nieces and nephews: Bailey-Shay, Kylie, June, Charles, Xavier, Xaiden; special cousins: Chad, Tyrese, Derek, and Isabella, Sammy Yellow Horn, Carmen, Jackie, George, Melissa, Lori-Ann, Jamie, Henry Byrdie Lowry, Shay Yellow Horn, Shariffe Yellow Horn, Slade Yellow Horn and Brooker Yellow Horn. Brendan is also survived by his aunt’s & uncles: Caroline Yellow Horn, Byron ( Melanie) Yellow Horn, Murray (Marg), Charolette (Dave) McLeod, Lenora Yellow Horn, Alvin Yellow Horn, Rick Yellow Horn, Wallace Yellow Face, Mervin Yellow Face, Manard Yellow Face and Madeline Yellow Face; the families of the Provost’s, Yellow Horns, Crow Shoes and Plain Eagles. He was pre-deceased by his brother Lance Kenneth Yellow Face and relatives to numerous mention.
Brendan Lyle Yellow Face was born to Willard and Linda Yellow Face on January 10, 1971, in Fort Macleod, Alberta. His upbringing began on his family Ranch. Brendan had a very adventurous and fun childhood that he shared with his brothers and cousins from the neighbourhood. The days were always filled with activities from sunrise to sunset. Some of the favourite things they did together was playing ground hockey, soccer, baseball, football and wrestling. He was the linebacker as he was hard to move. In wrestling he was known as King Kong Bundy, because no one could take him down.
Brendan helped on the family Ranch throughout his life before his health issues. He saw many Roundups at the Peigan Dip before they were shut down. Brendan’s Education started off at Peigan School in Brocket. He then graduated from Matthew Halton High School with an advanced diploma. He went on to Lethbridge College to receive his diploma in Accounting. Brendan had numerous jobs throughout his life starting from a gas jockey at his grand-parents service station. He was a postmaster on Piikani for a stint, worked at Jysk in Lethbridge, was an accountant with the Peigan Board of Education, and worked with his late brother Lance to start Oldman Irrigation Incorporated of Piikani Nation before the project was shut down.
Brendan always had an affinity for cats from his collection of Garfield comic books. All his pet cats were very special friends to him right up until his untimely passing. Brendan was developing an impressive green thumb from which he grew an array of great vegetables. His passion was working in his green house before health could not afford him to continue his quest for self-sufficiency.
Brendan was a student of the universe for which he was seeking knowledge on all levels of human existence. His many hours of research brought him down many dark rabbit holes that speak to the hidden truths of our existence in humanity. The knowledge he gained was shared in many conversations with whoever he was trying to red pill and wake up to the truths. Brendan has left a big void in our lives. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who loved him ❤️
