It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geoffrey MacLennan (85) of Collingwood, Ontario on October 28, 2023, at Hospice Simcoe.
Geoff went peacefully after suffering a brain bleed. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Eleanor (Savage), cherished daughter and son in law Alison and Ryan Gervais, and two beloved grandsons, Aiden, and Reid.
Born in EDinburgh, Scotland, Geoff graduated from the Herriot Watt University with a B.Sc. In Engineering. He emigrated to Canada in 1967 and was a professor at Seneca College for over 20 years. He loved teaching because he was paid to talk – his favourite pastime! He retired to Collingwood in 1999 and frequently said, “it’s the best move we ever made.”
Geoff and Eleanor did extensive travelling around the world and also worked in Libya and Iran. They spent the last 25 years wintering in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Hospice Georgian Triangle would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has already taken place. No formal services will be held.
