BIGRAS, ROBERTA
A proud Newfoundlander, faith filled, courageous, strong, funny, loving and kind are a few ways to capture who Roberta was.
Roberta was born on September 21, 1930. She was the youngest of 7 children born to Robert and Clara Taylor. At the age of 19 she came to Ontario and lived with her sister and her family. She then met the love of her life and raised her family.
You only had to spend a few minutes with Roberta to hear her speak about her heritage, her family and granddaughters, or what event was happening that week at Ottawa West Community Support.
Mom had amazing neighbors and friends that cared for her deeply.
She will be deeply missed. She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Clara, her brothers William (Marion), Albert (Betty), George (Eslie), her sisters Emmaline (Jack), Dorothy (Fred) , her brother in law Jim and her husband Morris.
Roberta leaves behind her daughter Jackie Monforton (Alan), and her granddaughters Grace and Samantha Monforton, her sister Jean Garrity, many nephews and nieces, great, great -great nephews and nieces and many friends. To her family she was fondly known as Bobs to her siblings and Aunt Bobs to her many nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday November 8,2023 at Ottawa Reformed Presbyterian Church, 466 Woodland Ave, Ottawa ON at 1130 am with light refreshments to follow.
Since the passing of her husband Morris, Roberta loved the community she was part of in attending Ottawa West Community Support where she had lots of fun and formed many meaningful relationships.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her memory to Ottawa West Community Support
