Trina Michelle Littlechild
“Leader of Women”

Trina Michelle Littlechild, of Maskwacis, Alberta, entered into rest on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023.
Trina is survived by her children Kestler, Kuehne, and Tierney (Dylan); siblings: Josh (Heather) with children Conner, and Adalene; Alaynee with children Neyoma, Lakota, Elijah, and Peter; and Lucille and children; cousins Mitchell and Rayelle Rattlesnake; parents Marvin and Patricia; adopted Kokom Mary Wildcat Stoney; adopted aunt Anne Wildcat and siblings; adopted uncle Chief Delbert Wapass; adopted sister Suzie Dzus; and numerous Goodwill, Littlechild, and Rattlesnake Family; and chosen uncles and aunties.
She was predeceased by her grandparents Alexander Tawaci Was’te and Stella Okute Sica Goodwill, Victor Littlechild and Alice Cutknife Littlechild; aunts Audrey Goodwill and Ruby Paskemin; uncle Howard Goodwill; brother/cousin Jason Goodstriker; mother-in-law Irene Stanley; father-in-law Christopher Rattlesnake; and brother-in-law Mitch Rattlesnake.
Trina comes from one of the largest and well-known Powwow families. She has travelled extensively throughout Powwow country. Along with her sister Lucille, she was one of the first women to bring the Jingle Dress to the prairies and western Canada through the Ojibway ceremony. Trina had a passion for education, learning, and literature. Even with prolonged illness, she made sure that she provided her children with the best life possible.
Trina’s family would like to extend a special thanks to Elder Brian Lee; Maskwacis Health Services Staff, Homecare and Transportation Departments; Wetaskiwin Hospital Staff and Dialysis Unit; Red Deer Hospital Staff; Royal Alexandra Hospital Staff; Dr. Vanderwalt, Dr. Dippenaar, Dr. Jim; Ermineskin Cree Nation; Baker Funeral Chapel; Matthew Whitecloud; The Firekeepers and all those who contributed food, flowers, and support. The family apologizes if they have forgotten anyone, it was not our intention.
A Memorial Prayer Service will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 28th, 2023, at the Neyaskweyahk Okimaw Kamik Community Hall in Maskwacis, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are greatly appreciated and gratefully accepted by the Canadian Diabetes Association.
