Obituary
Hans Georg Wesche, age 96, of Stratford Ontario passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Spruce Lodge (Stratford) surrounded by his family. Hans was born on July 11, 1927 in Hamelin, Germany, the son of the late Erich and Amalie Wesche. Hans was a loving and devoted husband and is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marianne (Wald) Wesche. Hans and Marianne shared many good times together with family and friends. Proud father of Richard (Mary) Wesche, Tom (Tammy) Wesche and Evelyn Gilkinson and grandfather of Kate, Eric, Tyler, Nicola (Nate) and Amanda.
Hans’ thirty plus year engineering career began at F.A.G. Bearings Ltd, in Schweinfurt Germany and continued after his immigration to Canada at the Stratford Ontario location.
Hans was a sports enthusiast, enjoying gymnastics, skiing, and rowing in his younger years and becoming an avid golfer over his life time. He played his last round of golf at age 88 with a score that equaled his age. Hans was a member of the Schweinfurt Rowing Club and a lifelong member of the Stratford Country Club. Hans was the number one fan of his children and grandchildren traveling to rinks and golf courses all over Ontario and Michigan.
Hans had a kind, gentle and supportive nature always being present in every moment. He was a true warrior.
Besides his parents, Hans was predeceased by his sister and her husband Ursula and Kurt Schaefer.
The family would like to thank the entire care team at Spruce Lodge for the outstanding love, care, and kindness they gave to Hans.
