Obituary
Brenda (Ben) Preston passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on October 22, 2023 after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Brenda celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary to her beloved husband, James C. Preston, on September 1st, 2023. She is survived by husband Jim, sons Jay (Sara), Christopher (Kathryn) and daughter Kathryn (Austin). Brenda is also grandmother to seven grandchildren, Luke, Will, Kelsey and Tommy Preston, Andrew Preston, and Mac and Ann Preston Olive who brought much joy and laughter to her life. Brenda is also survived by sister Joan Diez de Bonilla, brother-in-law Bill Preston and wife Judy, sister-in-law Jane Moffatt and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by son Andrew, September 28th, 2022, her parents Angeline & Alvin MacKay and her in-laws Jeffrey and Isabel Preston.
Brenda was a graduate of Stratford Central Secondary School, St. Thomas Elgin Nursing School and the University of Western Ontario.
Her favourite activities were spending time at her beloved Inverhuron with family and friends, and taking stunning photos of her grandchildren and sunsets. Her love for the cottage and nibblies on the deck was only surpassed by her unwavering loyalty to family and friends..
A Celebration of “Ben’s” life will be held next summer with a private family interment in Kincardine Cemetery.
