It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Anne Carney (née Kennedy). Catherine passed away after a brief illness on October 5, 2023, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 76.
Catherine was born in Cornwall, Ontario on August 17, 1947, to Hughe Kennedy and Sara Kennedy (née McCormick) and raised in Lochiel, Ontario. She settled in the Okanagan Valley in 1973 where she lived and served her community to her last day.
Catherine was a compassionate and caring woman to all those around her, and she had a great love for nature and animals. She was endlessly creative and an inspiration to so many.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Alexander Kennedy & Angus Kennedy the first. She is survived by her daughter Aura Carney; son Aemon Carne; brothers Mark, Angus, & Gerard, and her nieces Kristy, Kathy, & Kim; sister Mary McNevin and niece Samantha & nephew Murray.
A loving mother, daughter and friend, you will be greatly missed.
‘I will let fall a shower of roses and I will spend my heaven doing good on earth’.
