With sadness and gratitude for a life well lived we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Lorraine Rapacki on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the age of 94.
Beloved wife of the late James Rapacki (1989).
Loving mother of Jennifer and her husband James Knapp and Shirley and her husband Dan Flanagan.
Dear grandmother of Amanda Taylor (Graham), Lauren Knapp (Sam Diehl), Ryan Flanagan (Aalia), Sarah Flanagan (Aaron Hyslop).
Lorraine will be missed and remembered by her sister Shirley Fixter and her husband Frank and their family. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Harry and Genevieve Knechtel, brother Harold and his wife Shirley Knechtel as well as her sister-in-law Teresa and her husband Harry Lang and also by her nephew Greg Fixter.
Lorraine gives us all a perfect example of a life well lived, and memories of her life will forever be treasured by her family and friends.
She was at her happiest helping others, whether that meant volunteering her time, crocheting blankets for charity, or spoiling her grandchildren the way that only a grandmother can.
Another of Lorraine’s great joys was entertaining and enjoying the company of her friends. She was the life of the party with her kind and vivacious personality.
Lorraine’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at St. Andrew’s Terrace for their care of Lorraine over the last two years.
Lorraine’s family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 – 8:00 on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener 519-749-8467.
The Funeral Mass will take place at 12 noon on Friday, October 20, 2023 at St. Anne R.C. Church, 268 East Avenue, Kitchener followed by a reception in the church hall.

Interment will follow the reception at Woodland Cemetery.
