MacDonald, Catherine Elaine (nee Lockhart)
Cathy passed away on October 16, 2023, at the General & Marine Hospital, having celebrated her 80th birthday in June. Loving wife of Howard MacDonald, and cherished mother of Paul MacDonald and Karen (the late Colin) Linfield. Dearly loved grandma of Emma and Julie MacDonald and Hailey and Kevin Linfield. Predeceased by her parents Clarence and Mildred Lockhart, her brother Jim Lockhart (Audrey) and Roger Lockhart (Vonny). Much loved sister of Jean Thomson and sister-in-law of Gail Lockhart and Brenda (the late Bryan) MacDonald.
Cathy was a devoted member of Trinity United Church, a choir member and player of the handbells. Her children and grandchildren gave her great joy with their visits and calls. Another great love was duplicate bridge which she played at a high level with many different partners. Travelling to many locations on bridge cruises was a special delight.
A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held at Trinity United Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday November 18, 2023. In lieu of flowers donations to Trinity United Church or the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
