Obituary
It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Christina (Ferguson) Chambers which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, October 13th, 2023. Born 1955, in Saint John, she is the daughter of the late James Murray and Bernadette (Parker) Ferguson. In her earlier years, Margaret worked at the Royal Bank of Canada. She became an RNA in 1978 working for many years before retirement. Margaret was a longtime volunteer with the Empty Stocking Fund for 49 years. She was a volunteer with the Quispamsis Navy League of Canada for 30 years. Margaret had a passion for Bingo and she enjoyed coloring. Family was most important to her and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Margaret is survived by her son Kevin Chambers (Pam); daughters Sara Bartlett (Ben), Amy Chambers all of Saint John and their father Michael Chambers who was Margaret’s best friend of 54 years; siblings Kathleen Ferguson-Cook of Saint John, Jim Ferguson (Loretta) of Hampton, George Ferguson (Laura) of St. Martins, Joey Ferguson (Casey) of Geary, Mary Savoy (Gordon) of Fredericton, Kelly Hickie (Mike) of Saint John; grandchildren Brenden, Connor, Isaac, Faith, Scarlett, Isaiah; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her brothers Tom and Walter.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424) with visitation being held on Tuesday, October 17th from 2 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place in the Fundy chapel on Wednesday, October 18th at 2 p.m. Interment will be held at Hampton Rural Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
