Jett James Michael Gleason
Our big-rig-loving boy, Jett James Michael Gleason, left our hearts broken with his passing on January 7th, 2023 at the age of 20 months. He is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Kelsey (Evershed) Gleason, and his big sister and best friend, Pyper. He will be sorely missed by his Mammou and Pappou, Brenda and Jim Evershed, his G-Ma and G-Dad, Sue and Rick Chevalier, and his Nana and Papa, Barb and Mike Gleason. Jett is also survived by his Auntie Hayley (Evershed) and fellow truck enthusiast, Uncle “Dee,” Dylan Douglas, his Aunt Ashley Chevalier, his cousin, Farrah, and he was looking forward to the birth of a boy cousin, Baby Douglas, in June. His fur-siblings, Yogi Boy and Luce, will forever miss his kisses.
We will never witness another goal without hearing his little voice shout “Goal!” or envisioning him recklessly throwing his stick and hands above his head. Drives in the car will be filled with memories of him demanding to go for a “Vroom” using his hands to signal that he was going to give the ride some throttle. Jett was a lover of all hats and we will forever be reminded of his snuggly little spirit every time we pop one on.
Although his time with us was cut short, and we will never know why, we know that our JettBoy felt the unconditional love of countless friends and family members and that he impacted many of their lives with his infectious smile, blonde curls, and big, blue eyes.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Carleton Place Hospital nursing staff and to all of the first responders who arrived at our home for their efforts to save our Baby Boy. We would also like to acknowledge Dr. Walker for his compassion and sensitivity, as well as Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, for their empathy and care, throughout this senseless tragedy.
The family has been overwhelmed with gratitude for the support and company of countless friends and complete strangers. They are incredibly appreciative of all of the efforts of everyone who has reached out. Thank you to those who prepared meals, sent flowers, shoveled their laneway, and helped take care of so many other “extras.” We are forever grateful for each of you.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for others to hug their babies a little tighter, read an extra bedtime story, and smile the next time they’re lucky enough to clean up a spill at the dinner table.
Friends are invited to support the family at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, on Friday, January 27th, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
